Recycling And Environment
Jemseal Packaging Co. P/L manufactures plastic bags and other products from low and high-density polythene blown film. We either pack our products into cardboard cartons, wrap in paper, or, wind onto cardboard cores, and wrap in plastic. The products we produce/use are recyclable (recycle code 2 or 4 and paper/cardboard). We have an in house recycling programme where all suitable materials are separated for re-use, reprocessing or recycling. This includes our machine plastic scrap, pallet stretch wrap, all paper and cardboards, scrap metal, as well as the normal household recyclable materials (p.e.t bottles, aluminum cans, etc.). All separated recyclable products are sent off site for reprocessing.
Company History
Jemseal Packaging Co. was first established in March 1976, with one side seal plastic bag making in a very small factory located at 120 Cambell Street, Collingwood. With the purchase of another bag making machine, the company outgrew the premises in Collingwood, and sub leased a rear section of a factory in Vernon Avenue, West Heidelberg. The opportunity came to purchase a four colour flexographic printing press from W.R. Grace, and in 1979 Jemseal moved to 13 Lawson Crescent, Thomastown. The company also became a Proprietary Limited company in this year. In February 1982 one of the founders of Jemseal Packaging Co. passed away, and in January 1984, the company was sold to the present owners.
We have achieved steady growth from then on, purchasing modern high-speed machines and other equipment, and over the years have become an efficient and able manufacturing company. We are able to produce custom made bags to our customer's requirements in a short time frame, at a reasonable price, due to our low overheads, compared to larger manufacturing companies.

With the additional use of recycled materials we strive to provide products that are also environmentally friendly. We strive to provide these services to you at the lowest possible cost and in an efficient timeframe. We have been succeeding in these goals for many years now and this is reflected in our reputation.
